Get Right for the Summer Time

Ok..  So alot of people may not have noticed but I have been on a slight diet.. No thanks to my lunch partner at work with his Dirty burgers and the like but I have been trying to lose some weight and get healthier. Some people have asked me how I have been doing this so I thought I would share..

its hard to watch those damn infomercials on the tube with cut or fit people showing off exercise equipment and thinking ‘how the hell do i begin?’.when you’re overweight shit is mad hard to begin.

The healthy way to loose healthy weight is between .5 and 2 lbs a week. You don’t want sagging skin and other health problems.

You can even use tools to assist like www.fitday.com. It’s a FREE personal online tracker and has everything you need, including how much protein, fat and carbs you should eat, and how many calories should take in.

Do a lot of GENTLE stretching before and after activities, I have pulled muscles and its not a good thing.  Trying to be master of the gym the first day will only leave u sore and damage your body.
Walk 1 hour a day or do aerobic excercising. If you want to lose those “love handles” on your belly, walking is the best exercise to lose fat. In addition to walking, any other activity you enjoy is good (swimming, bike riding, volleyball, martial arts, dancing, even SEX!!!). There are lots of excellent DVDs on the market. (You can do a bittorrent search and probably find them for free)
1. walk (if you have a partner take them with you)
2. drink at least 2 liters of water a day (it helps flush the fat)
3. avoid fried foods
4. fill 1/2 your plate with vegetables, 1/4 with lean meats (chicken, fish or tofu) and the remaining 1/4 with either potatoes, brown rice or whole wheat noodles.
5. stick with whole wheat bread and low fat margarine
6. stay away from sugar.
7. eat snacks (ideally: low fat yogourt or low fat cheese with a fruit) twice daily.

Measure yourself to see the change. Muscles weighs more than fat, so you might lose fat but it might not be showing on the scale. Your clothes will start to feel loose soon.

If you eat 3 meals a day and 2 snacks a day, and you keep drinking water, you will not be as hungry and it will be easy.

Avoid running if you are obese (the Fitday website will help you determine if you are). It could harm your joints.

Again, make healthy choices in foods, avoid fad-diets at all costs, and be active in general. Any cardio is good for you as well as working the whole of your body, but DO NOT over-do yourself.

This should start you off on a good track to losing weight.
