With the upcoming release of the Blackberry Tour on 7/12 I thought I would give a brief glimpse as to why all the Blackberry Heads on Sprint and Verizon Wireless are going crazy…

we have all seen the standard Blackberry design,  Screen, trackball and a full qwerty keyboard in a candy bar form factor..  The curve line was the first major BB consumer win that full qwerty all in one device, cam, media player, email all in one..  A few years ago Rim choose to make what they viewed as their Flagship device   The BOLD.. packed a speedy processor , 2mp cam, amazing screen, and an awesome keyboard that makes typing a joy, THE BOLD packed every radio Rim could fit in it.. except a CDMA which means if your on AT&T then your in 3G/Wifi heaven..  but on vzw and sprint no joy..

Sure they had the 8830 unit and three years after AT&T and Tmo they got the curve but as soon as these devices came to CDMA..  along comes the 8900 curve.. High Def screen, 3mp cam and lots and lots of App Memory…  whats a CDMA loving BB head to do??   Worry not..  cause RIM is writing a love letter to the 100+million CDMA users in the form of the tour..

Screen:

This is the new defacto screen for all devices rim is putting out and its amazing.. graphics and pictures on this screen make looking at boring email seem like a crime..

Sound:

Calls sound great (testing on vzw natch) and are clear and not muddled..  The device has a speaker port on the side of the device that gives amazing clarity to the sound.. using the speakerphone is actually nice and doesnt sound like the caller is in a tunnel.. Music and video are on point as well with truely amazing sound depth for a cellphone..

Os:

The device ships with BB OS 4.7 which is the same os as the BB storm uses.  course that device is a touch screen one but the OS translates to a keyboard and trackball incredibly well.  Now that is a boon for The Tour but shows how bad the OS is paired with the Storm if you can move a touch OS to a non touch device and not have to change anything but an input path… (end storm rant)  The OS that ships with the device is stable but expect to see a small update in the near future as OS 5.0 is being rolled out to all late models BB’s.

Extras:

With the Elephant in the cellphone room that is apple and their “there is an app for that” Rim has had to face that in today’s world people want widgets, apps, games and all in their mobile devices and they are trying to adapt.  Memory on BB devices has always been based on a need to store lots of emails and text… not apps and the like.   With the 8900 Rim has changed the way they view app memory.. Now most units come with at least 256 mb of app memory so no more power users having to strip features from the OS for function (alas Brickbreaker I knew ya well).  Users can load up Rim’s App world, hit the crackberry store or whatever and go nuts on apps, themes and the like and not have memory leak delete their emails due to running out of memory..  Win for Rim but with every IPhone having at least 8Gb on board its only a temp solution..   Hardcore users have been begging for the abilty to install to media card so lets get that done!

all in all,   I am sure that the CDMA berry lovers will enjoy this device..  so line up on Sunday morning and tell them Blackmanx sent ya!!

So I can say with no uncertain terms this is the best CDMA bb ever and fits in nicely with its BOLD, CURVE 8900 brothers…

NOW: Juve released five albums since 400 Degreez with mixed response but Juvenile has been off the radar since 2006 and though he does have an album slated for release this year his relevance as a rapper has declined so greatly that the release will probably end up disappointing.

DMX

THEN: After catching a break in The Source’s “Unsigned Hype” column, DMX was finally able to get signed to Def Jam in 1998, when his first album came out. DMX strung a line of five albums together from 1998 to 2003, each of which went at least platinum once over. DMX was able to hold down dark, grimy rap in an age where artists were moving away from the sub-genre.

NOW: The man has been arrested for animal cruelty, reckless driving, unlicensed driving, drug possession and identity falsification. He was implicated in the alleged rape of a stripper in the Bronx, and WAS cleared, but the man has a rap sheet hairier than Freeway’s beard. Now he’s got a gospel album in post-production and two albums coming out this year and/or 2010.

Master P

THEN: Master P made his debut in the rap-game in 1991 with his release, Get Away Clean. Five years later his fifth release, Ice Cream Man, would go platinum and be the first in a chain of five albums to chart and either go platinum or gold for the New Orleans rapper in a row. His albums have failed to chart since 2001.

NOW: Despite lackluster numbers, Master P parlayed his success as a rapper into success in multiple business ventures including a record company, a clothing line, a film company, a sports managment company, real estate holdings and a travel company. Miller saw much more money outside of rap. He hasn’t released an album in three years and has kept his music career very quiet.

Busta Rhymes

His recent release, Back On My BS, though commercially unsuccessful, has marked a resurgence of Busta in rap and through a slew of singles featuring artists new and old, Rhymes seems to be staging a comeback.

Missy Elliott

THEN: Missy Elliott began her musical career in a group called Sista, alongside her childhood friend and producer, Timothy Mosely aka Timbaland. After moving to New York and the larger group she had joined dispersed, Elliott and Mosely did a majority of their work writing and producing for other acts. Elliott released Supa Dupa Fly in 1997 to critical acclaim and her follow up album two years later, Da Real World, also went platinum.

THEN: Snoop linked with West coast producer and rapper, Dr. Dre after Dre heard the rookie emcee freestyle over an En Vogue track. By the time 2000 was over, Snoop Dogg had gone platinum 10 times over with five albums in seven years.

NOW: Snoop has expanded his “brand” to multiple business ventures. Once the braided-up rapper from the streets of Long Beach, Snoop has parlayed his commercial success into product endorsements, television shows, peewee football teams and more. How To Make an Awesome 80’s Action Movie

We are huge fans of 80’s Action Movies….HUGE fans.  Over the years, we’ve noticed that most 80’s Action Movies follow a certain recipe, and contain specific elements that really seem to make them work.  By following these simple steps, you too can create your own 80’s Action Movie:

Step 1: Explosions

Any 80’s Action Movie that’s worth its weight in cocaine and lengthy vaginal pubic hair has to have explosions…LOTS of explosions.  An 80’s movie without explosions is like a sorority girl wearing a sweater: after a few minutes, you realize how stupid they are, because there’s nothing there to distract you from it.  Explosions are key, and when it comes to 80’s Action Movies, it’s impossible to use too many.

Step 2: The Hero

You have two options for The Hero: he can either be a white dude with a mustache, awesome 80’s hair, and a vest, or a super-buff black dude who’s not wearing a shirt.  If you choose the black dude, he can’t be too outrageously buff, because then he starts to leave the “Hero” territory and venture into the “Bad Guy’s Number One Henchman” zone.  The Hero will be a little bit rough around the edges, but good-natured and pure, and somehow he’ll have learned how to kick major ass. They’ll explain that he’s an ex-Green Beret or something, and because he’s selfless, he’ll be happy to put his life on the line to defend the innocent, even if it’s for no clear reason at all.

Step 3: The Boobies

80’s Action Movies are all about a good set of big ol’ boobies.  You’re going to see those boobies several times, and they’re going to be real and natural.  They’ll also probably be wet, due to a shower or the ocean.  At some point, the owner of these boobies will be kidnapped by the bad guy, and one of his henchmen will try to gently touch her boobies, and she’ll inflict pain on his crotch, even though, two scenes ago, The Hero was squeezing her boobies like he was using a hand pump to inflate an air mattress on a camping trip.

Step 4: The Badass Car

No hero is just gonna walk around with his hot chick by his side, trying to defend justice on foot.  He’s gonna need a sweet ride.  The rules regarding cars in action movies haven’t really changed much since the 80’s.  Our hero is either going to drive the newest, sweetest, real-life sports car on the market, or he’s going to drive some kind of futuristic, fictional car that doesn’t really exist.  He’ll probably only drive the sweet car for a few scenes before he crashes it through something and uses it to trigger a huge, catalytic explosion that gets the final action sequence started.

Step 5: The Bad Guy

Since this is an 80’s movie, there’s going to be karate involved, even when it clearly doesn’t belong.  Whether the movie takes place in modern-day Harlem, or Dark-Ages England, somebody is going to get jump-kicked in the neck in slow motion.  The main bad guy is going to be a sleazy businessman-type, who’s trying to get money by taking advantage of some social system that’s going to rip everyone else off while he gets filthy rich.  Obviously, like any nefarious 80’s businessman, he’ll have an army of ninjas defending his fortress hideout.

Step 6: The Title

This is incredibly important:  80’s movie titles, much like a Tijuana hooker, have to make you think that, for $10, you’re going to have two hours of complete and utter awesomeness.  To create the proper 80’s Action Movie title, you’ll need one word that’s the name of the main character, but also the name of an object that’s considered super badass, like a razor, or a chainsaw.  Then, the second word in the title has to be a synonym for ass-kicking revenge.  It’s as simple as that.

Step 7: The Tagline

The last crucial element of the Awesome 80’s Movie is the tagline.  This is of utmost importance, because it needs to tell the audience what the movie is sort of about, and it also needs to be really cool.  It should contain at least one pun and one ellipses, and it should end with an exclamation point, to further emphasize the action that this movie contains.

The Grammy winner has been living apart from his wife for nearly a year after almost two years of marriage. Usher’s primary concern is for his children. He is a great father and just wants to do what is right for them.

The insider says that it’s more than just talk — the divorce papers were filed in Atlanta this morning.

The couple has faced problems in the past. In November 2008, In Touch reported that Usher was flirting with girls at a party in Miami, and even asked a model what she was doing afterward.
